Thoughtful Thursday: How to Overcome Any Obstacle with Faith

He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20)

We all face obstacles in our lives. These obstacles can be anything that blocks our way, slows us down, or stops us from achieving our goals. These obstacles can be external, such as a difficult situation, a tough challenge, or a strong opposition. These obstacles can also be internal, such as a limiting belief, a negative emotion, or a bad habit.

But there is a way to overcome any obstacle, and that is to have faith. Faith is not just a religious term or a spiritual concept, but a universal and practical principle. Faith is not just a belief in something or someone, but a trust and a confidence in something or someone. Faith is not just a passive or a reactive attitude, but an active and a proactive approach.

Faith can overcome any obstacle, because faith can:

  • Help us to see the positive and the possible. Often, we are blinded by the negative and the impossible. We may not see or appreciate the opportunities or the solutions that our obstacles offer. We may also focus on the worst-case scenarios or the worst outcomes, and lose hope or give up. But faith can help us to see the positive and the possible, by helping us to look beyond the surface and the appearance, and to see the deeper and the bigger picture. Faith can also help us to focus on the best-case scenarios or the best outcomes, and to have hope and perseverance.
  • Help us to take action and to make progress. Often, we are paralyzed by fear and doubt. We may not take action or make progress, because we are afraid of failure, rejection, or criticism. We may also doubt ourselves, our abilities, or our potential, and feel insecure or inadequate. But faith can help us to take action and to make progress, by helping us to overcome our fear and doubt, and to face our obstacles with courage and confidence. Faith can also help us to believe in ourselves, our abilities, and our potential, and to feel secure and adequate.
  • Help us to connect with a higher power and a higher purpose. Often, we are isolated and disconnected. We may not feel or acknowledge the presence, the power, or the love of a higher power, who can help us, guide us, and support us. We may also not know or understand the purpose, the meaning, or the value of our lives, or of the obstacles we face. But faith can help us to connect with a higher power and a higher purpose, by helping us to receive and experience the help, the guidance, and the support that a higher power offers. Faith can also help us to discover and fulfill the purpose, the meaning, and the value of our lives, and of the obstacles we face.

As we practice faith, we will overcome any obstacle in our lives, and we will experience the positive and the possible, the action and the progress, and the higher power and the higher purpose in our lives. We will also inspire and influence others to practice faith, and to experience the same in their lives.
